My professional journey

From rowing to inclusive sport.

My journey in sport began with rowing and the Lithuanian national team. Working with children and people with disabilities later helped me discover another value of sport: the opportunity to participate, learn and belong to a community.

A foundation in sport

I am a former member of the Lithuanian national rowing team and have competed nationally and internationally. My sporting experience also includes coastal rowing, which I discussed in a 2022 Sportland interview.

Today, I want my work as an inclusive sports coach to be at the centre of my story. The national team and competitions remain an important foundation, now complemented by practical work with different people.

Different people, different starting points

In 2021–2022, my work at the Startukas children’s sports school included both younger and older children. Through JUDU365, I worked on adapted rowing and surfing activities for people with disabilities. My experience also includes swimming sessions with people who have a fear of water.

What these activities have in common is attention to each person’s readiness to take part. In my biography, I emphasise the importance of physical and emotional readiness. This is why the environment, clear information and individual needs have such a central place in my vision for the future.

What is growing from this experience

I currently work in rowing with children and people with disabilities. I chose Eglė Moves as the name under which my independent coaching work and a future sports space could grow.

I want to bring clear guidance and professional preparation to sport, while making room for someone who is still looking for a way to begin. Current session options are described on the Training page and discussed when you get in touch.

Learning alongside experienced athletes

In a 2017 interview, I spoke about a training camp in Italy, where I rowed with Milda Valčiukaitė and Donata Karalienė. I also competed with Donata at the Piediluco regatta. This experience showed me how much attention professional sport gives to every stroke.

New experience in coastal rowing

In 2022, I was preparing for the European Coastal Rowing Championships. In an interview with the Lithuanian Rowing Federation, I spoke about training on the waters around Klaipėda and the differences brought by waves, lagoon and sea conditions.

A win for Klaipėda University

At the 2024 Lithuanian Student Rowing Championships, Tomas Plauška and I won the mixed double sculls event, both representing Klaipėda University. The result is published by the Lithuanian Students’ Sports Association.
